How It Works

GangRun uses an intelligent packing algorithm called GangPack that evaluates thousands of possible layout configurations in seconds. When you submit your parameters — sheet size, bleed settings, and a list of projects with their dimensions and order quantities — the algorithm systematically explores single-plate, two-plate, and multi-plate arrangements. For each configuration, it determines the optimal placement of every project on the plate, calculates the run length (number of sheets to print), and measures the material yield.

The result is a comprehensive breakdown that shows you exactly how many copies of each project fit per sheet, how many sheets you need to order, what your overage will be, and a visual plate layout so you can see the arrangement at a glance. You can compare single-plate versus multi-plate options to find the configuration that best balances material savings against plate setup costs.

Every dimension you enter stays between you and your browser; we do not store, log, or transmit your project data for any purpose beyond computing your result.
